In the interest of all things retro, I thought it might be fun to head back down memory lane (for those of us whose memories existed back then!).  I unearthed this in my parents’ basement a few weeks ago.  I’ll post some great product shots soon in another post!

Minus 21 degrees!?  Does it really matter when you have a great place for photos and a group of friends that only add to the excitement and dynamic energy of the day?  That’s what Melissa and Joe had last Saturday in one of Central and Southern Ontario’s deep freezes.  We met Melissa’s great friend (also Melissa) a few years ago while shooting some sunset photos of her wedding, and these 2 are absolutely the kindest and most gracious duo I’ve come across in a long time.  This was also a very rare scenario where I was able to work with my gorgeous wife Debbie, and it was really our pleasure to be the official company to cover the photography at Melissa and Joe’s wedding.

Every once in a very long time, we photo junkies at Stec try to stretch our creative bones by venturing out into a bold new world called Commercial photography!  We’ve hooked up with a very funky interior decor boutique called Chic by Jansen.  Here are a few preliminary ads for Chic that will likely end up as billboards in St. Catharines and in Niagara Magazine over the next year.  Keep an eye out for the magazine ads as they’ll feature 2 or 3 more catchy, funky (we hope) ads that are starring none other than (take a wild guess)…..that’s my boy!

Here’s a fun little feature we were happy to be a part of last Summer which appears in the current issue of Today’s Bride Magazine.  It was a wedding Debbie and I shot in Guelph, and once again everyone was gracious enough to say “yes” to my instructions to trudge out into a mucky sunflower field and even climb a stepladder in said “muck”!  Thanks Debbie, Allison and Shane – you made us all look good!

Happy New Year!!

In light of all the excitement at the home and studio of Stec Photographers pertaining to our newest, littlest family addition Rian, this cute little goober might feel a bit neglected, so to make him happy (the computer savvy critter that he is), here’s his very own blog post just before CHRISTMAS!  We are so greatful for each and every one of you our faithful “blog followers” and clients and we thank God for His continued grace upon our family.  From our family to yours – Merry CHRISTmas!

For those of you keeping track, you’ll know it seems like forever since our last posting.  Since then we’ve had a little baby added to our family and life has been in high gear.  You’ll also notice a new look to our blog.  It’s a clean, simple minimalist look.  Every now and again we like to keep things fresh, and this look focuses attention on the images rather than the overall graphic design.

Just last weekend, Sandra and Darren’s wedding put a bit of a scare in me when I woke up to gale force winds and debris smacking my windows.  I thought “A WEDDING IN THIS? – OH NO!”  In the end it’s usually never as bad as I might imagine and we had a pretty good day all around (even though Sandra did put up with my ridiculous instructions to take off her warm wrap for some funky railroad shots).
